Project Highlight
Over 64,000 pounds of trash was removed from Texas beaches
Project Background
Texas beaches attract over 10 million visitors annually, benefiting local tourism but leaving a significant environmental impact due to excessive trash. Adopt-A-Beach, a state-run, volunteer-driven program, organizes seasonal beach cleanups to tackle this issue. As the creative lead for the Fall Cleanup, I was tasked with raising awareness and inspiring participation through a compelling seasonal brand.
Objective
The goal was to create a standout visual identity that resonated with audiences, encouraged volunteer signups, and maximized outreach across multiple channels.
Design Concept
Drawing inspiration from 1960s surf culture through a 1990s aesthetic lens, I developed a unique and nostalgic brand for the Fall Cleanup. This vibrant design approach set the tone for the campaign, balancing retro charm with a modern twist.
Execution
The campaign spanned social media, print, web, and merchandise, ensuring consistent messaging across platforms. The visual identity served as the centerpiece, creating excitement and driving engagement.
Impact
The Fall Cleanup campaign achieved exceptional results:
- Over 7,000 volunteers checked in across the state.
- Significant earned media coverage amplified the program’s reach.
- The cohesive branding helped foster community enthusiasm and elevated awareness of the environmental cause.
This campaign demonstrated the ability of design to drive action and bring communities together for a meaningful purpose.
